About Little Paws Cat SittingMAKE LIFE SIMPLE WITH LITTLE PAWS |
Ever since the time I snuck past my father with an abandoned kitten in my arms to bring into our house as a little girl, I've always had an incredible soft spot for cats and they have always been a part of our home throughout my life. Continuing through the years with this love, in fall of 2011 we decided to adopt our first rescue cats, Trouble and Squash, through the Ladybird Animal Sanctuary. Trouble and Squash being senior cats were having trouble finding a permanent home due to their age and the fact that Trouble weighed in at 30lbs and had little mobility.
They quickly made a huge impression on our hearts. Over the next while, with the help of a well maintained diet and encouragement to conquer stairs for exercise, we managed to knock Trouble's weight down to an incredible 25lbs. Despite our efforts, Trouble ended up with diabetic neuropathy, which required us learning how to treat him with insulin injections. This is where the idea for Little Paws came about. Anytime we wanted to get away for a vacation, it wasn't easy to find family or friends that felt comfortable with administering injections, so we would find ourselves having to board him at the veterinary clinic. Every time we brought him here, it broke our hearts as we knew how much it upset him to be moved out of the comfort zone of his own home. It was incredibly upsetting for him and us. Through this experience, I really wanted to be able to provide help for people like us. In the winter of 2014, Little Paws Cat Sitting was born. I couldn't be happier with the immediate, supportive and positive response I received with providing a service that allows people to feel at ease, knowing their furry family members are getting the love and attention they require and deserve. |
